Former Oregon State defensive back Alex Austin is headed to Buffalo after the Bills selected him with the No. 252 overall pick in the seventh of the 2023 NFL Draft on Saturday.

The 6’1, 195 pound defensive back and Long Beach, California native is the second Oregon State player drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. Former Oregon State tight end Luke Musgrave went in the second round, with the No. 42 overall selection, to Green Bay.

Austin is the eighth Oregon State player to be drafted by the Bills and is the second Oregon State defensive back to be drafted in the past three drafts. In 2021 NFL Draft, former Oregon State defensive back Nahshon Wright was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round.

With the selection, Austin is now the eighth Beaver to be drafted since Jonathan Smith became head coach at Oregon State in 2018.
