No new information has been provided following Friday’s decision to place Oregon State University’s campus police chief on paid leave.
According to the OSU Public Safety website, James Yon is acting in place of Anderson while she is on leave.
In an email James Yon wrote, “Our daily operations have not changed in anyway. We will continue our mission to ensure students and staff at OSU will live, work and learn in a safe environment. “
According to OSU Public Safety’s website, James Yon joined OSU in March of 2022, before he served for the Linn County Sherrif’s Office for 28 years. He served as sheriff up until switching to OSU Public Safety.
Anderson has been chief at OSU Public Safety since 2020. She previously worked in the Seattle Police Department beginning in 1992.
In an email, Rob Odom, the vice president for university relations and marketing, confirmed that Anderson is currently on leave but that he cannot comment further on the topic.
