Corvallis Parks and Recreation will host Caturday in partnership with Heartland Humane Shelter and Care this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Corvallis Community Center.
All cats must be on a leash or accounted for at all times in order to ensure the safety of all guests and their furry companions. Caturday will have stations to build cat toys, purchase cat toys and accessories, and play with cats brought in by volunteers.
“It will consist of several different components. There will be cats to visit with provided by Heartland,” said Zach Johnson, the event’s coordinator.
“We have a curated selection of cat-themed books provided by the library that are available to read and check out,” Johnson said, “We will also have a couple of cat-themed crafts and games including making your own cat toys. Our café will be open serving drinks and small snacks as well.”
The fur-stivities will be safe for all ages and are free. Even without a cat, it’s still purr-fectly fine to attend, as the event is mainly hinged on fur-ther connecting the community.
