Transgender Day of Remembrance falls on Wednesday this year, and the cultural centers of Oregon State University are hosting many events to highlight this day.
Tuesday evening from 4-6 p.m., the Kaku-Ixt Mana Ina Haws Center will welcome people for an event to celebrate the community with art, poetry and a short film.
The Pride Center and SOL will host the Trans Day of Remembrance from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, with food from Little Morocco, an open mic, art and creating a memorial. Registration is free and required to access the location for the event.
Dixon Recreation Center plans to hold Pride Swim Night at the pool from 6 to 8 p.m on Thursday. Expanded all-gender changing rooms have been added this year. The registration can be found here.
The final event of this Trans Awareness Week will be a film night with the Ettihad Center. More details are coming.
