Theft III
An officer arrested a male suspect after he stole an energy drink from a local pharmacy. The suspect was taken to jail and trespassed from the pharmacy.
Open Container
An officer responded to a welfare check call at a local gas station. The caller reported a female was on the ground and appeared confused. The officer determined that the female had driven her vehicle to the parking lot and had consumed one container of boxed wine. She had two additional unopened containers of wine in her car and was very intoxicated. She was issued a citation for Open Container by the officer and was driven home by a sober friend.
Injury Crash
An officer responded to a four-vehicle crash at an intersection. The officer learned that the driver of a black pickup truck ran into the back of another car as it was stopped at a stoplight. The impact caused the car to spin and hit two other cars. Three people were injured. The driver of the truck likely had a medical event possibly related to diabetes. He was issued a citation for following too closely.
DUII
An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity at a pharmacy. The officer arrived at the pharmacy and made contact with a male suspect. The suspect was fidgety, paranoid and admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the morning. The suspect had asked the pharmacy to call police because of his paranoia. The suspect admitted driving his vehicle to Corvallis from Sweet Home. The suspect was arrested for DUII and was taken to a local hospital for a blood and urine sample. He was cited for DUII, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Refusing to Test for Intoxicants, and was then released from the hospital.
Theft I
An officer respond to a call at a home improvement store for theft. Loss prevention stated that two men had entered the store, filled a shopping cart with tools, and exited without paying. The two men were confronted after exiting the store by loss prevention. One male let go of the cart, punched the loss prevention officer in the chest, and ran away. Both men got away in a 90’s model Ford Crown Victoria. The vehicle was later stopped by Albany Police and the Corvallis officer interviewed the subjects in Albany. Both subjects were arrested for Theft I, and one was arrested for Assault IV.
