Vehicle owned by white supremacist parked near campus, with signs supporting Andrew Oswalt
February 12, 2018
A vehicle with signs supporting “alt-right” Associated Students of Oregon State University Rep. Andrew Oswalt was briefly parked on Monroe Avenue near Rogers Hall, drawing counter-protesters between 3 and 4 p.m. today. The vehicle is owned by Jimmy Marr, who has previously used his vehicle to express white supremacist and anti-Semitic views, as reported by The Oregonian.
Oswalt is on the ballot in the ongoing ASOSU election in two places: a special recall vote for his current position as well as a re-election bid for next year. According to ASOSU Vice President and Chief Elections Officer, 1800 students have voted in the election so far. The election runs throughout the week online until Friday at 10 p.m. A link to the ballot was distributed through students’ ONID email accounts.
