Kendall Manuel arrested Thursday afternoon
Beavers redshirt freshman guard Kendal Manuel was arrested Thursday afternoon in Corvallis.
Manuel was brought into the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and booked on an Assault 4 charge. An Assault 4 charge is when a person commits the crime of assault in the fourth degree if the person : (a) intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causes physical injury to another; or, (b) with criminal negligence causes physical injury to another by means of a deadly weapon. (2) Assault in the fourth degree is a Class A misdemeanor.
Manuel posted bail Thursday evening at 8 p.m. and will be in court for arraignment at the Benton County Circuit Courthouse on Friday afternoon.
We are aware of this matter,” said OSU vice president Steve Clark. “We take such charges very seriously. We will cooperate with law enforcement authorities in their investigation. In manners involving student conduct, we follow OSU’s Code of Conduct and Community Standards.”
Manuel averages 7.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assist per game in his freshman season with the Beavers. The Beavers had just returned from the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas after a loss to the California Bears.
