The Thai Student Association at Oregon State University will hosting their annual Thai Night event on Saturday, Feb 8, at 6:00 pm in the MU Ballroom.
According to Student Clubs and Organizations’ Media, marketing and Administrative Lead Chanel Akazawa, “The event hopes to create an authentic experience” of Thai culture. This includes cultural symbols, comedy skits, and dance performances.
OSU’s Anomaly dance team and Kinetic dance group will be performing at the event.
“Like many cultural events (at OSU), Thai Night is an immersive experience that reflects the student group’s identity, traditions, and practices,” Akazawa said.
The event will feature a School Night theme and include Thai cuisine, games, and prizes. Admission will be $5 for OSU students, $7 for general admission, and $9 for VIP front row seating.
Akazawa praised the Thai Student Association’s efforts, saying “This year’s officer team has made all the difference…they’ve been working hard to put on such a large scale event. They’ve worked with other asian groups on campus to perform at the event.”
Other Asian student groups will be assisting in the setup and cleaning duties after the event, including the Japanese Student Association, Korean Student Association, and Filipino Student Association.
For more information, the Thai Student Association’s Event Coordinator, Inthavy Philalayseng can be contacted through the group’s Instagram.
Tickets can be purchased online through OSU’s Clubs and Orgs Website through Friday night
