The Benton County fairgrounds auditorium will transform to a dentistry office for one weekend thanks to Oregon State University’s pre-dental club and Caring Hands World Wide.
The free clinic will be by appointment on April 13 and 14 with services ranging from regular cleanings to fillings and extractions for those who cannot afford private dental insurance.
Caring Hands Worldwide is an organization that aims “to improve the dental health of those in need while partnering with them to strengthen their communities,” according to a press release sent out by OSU.
According to Karla Hernandez, volunteer coordinator of the OSU pre-dentistry club, the event has taken place every April since 2022 thanks to the pre-dentistry club, Caring Hands Worldwide, Oregon Health Sciences University dental students and Cam Little, a local dentist in Corvallis.
Hernandez said student volunteers will be able to provide translation for Spanish-speaking attendees and that she hopes the clinic can benefit as many Benton county residents as possible.
“Just having a good cleaning can do for your teeth is insane,” Hernandez said. “If anyone is needing any kind of oral or dental care, reach out to us.”
