The Beavers postseason opener begins with a matchup against No. 4 seed Tulane in the Corvallis Regional Round on Friday, May 31, at 6 p.m.

Coming into the postseason at No. 15 in national rankings, the Beavs rounded out the regular season with a 42-14 record; 19-10 in PAC-12 play. Tulane enters conference play with a 35-24 record, 15-12 in the American Athletic Conference. The Green Wave are up 3-0 in the series against the Beavs with their last matchup dating back to a 3-1 Tulane win in June of 2005.

When the selection committee announced Oregon State as the regional host, a smile grew across all of Corvallis as the city was named one of the sixteen to welcome the opening round of the 2024 college baseball postseason.

With a home record of 24-2 this year, the Beaver fans were quick to sell out Friday’s opener against Tulane as the team hopes to bounce back from an underwhelming performance in the PAC-12 tournament a week prior.

Hosting the regional for the 10th time since 2005 and the second time under head coach Mitch Canham’s tenure, Oregon State has a record of 27-7 in NCAA Regional Games at home. Hoping to make a statement throughout the entirety of the postseason, the Beavers begin their journey tonight.

Coming into the tournament the Beavers are ranked highly in a handful of team statistics including 4th in walks, 9th in ERA, 23rd in Triples, 16th in WHIP and tied for 11th in Home Runs. Having seen great things from this Beaver team throughout the year, including a record setting season from Travis Bazzana, the Beavers will need to take this game-by-game in order to get to Omaha.

The winners of the two regionals this weekend will go on to play in the Super Regionals against the winners of the Lexington Regional, and a potential trip to Omaha.

A limited number of student tickets will be available for purchase starting at 5 p.m. at the ticketing office at Goss Stadium.
