After serving as recruiting coordinator and associate head coach for seven seasons, Michael Eichler will take over as head coach of the Oregon State University women’s rowing team effective July 2.
Eichlers role with Oregon State has contributed to the team’s performances at the NCAA Championships, where they finished 14th in both first and second varsity eights.
Eichler was also instrumental in securing a fourth place finish at the Pac-12 Championships, the team’s best since 2009. His leadership and coaching abilities have helped the team become more competitive and achieve national rankings.
Prior to joining Oregon State, Eichler gained experience with the United States Junior National Team, where he focused on young athletes’ growth and preparation for elite-level competition.
Continuing his resume at Oregon State, Eichler was in charge of recruiting and recruited approximately 60 student athletes, including some U23 and U19 national team members. Beyond his recruiting skills, Eichler was able to coach and develop five CRCA All-American rowers.
Additionally, Eichler played a part in organizing events for fundraising and building relationships with the Oregon State rowing alumni community.
