The Coalition of Graduate Employees met with Oregon State University representatives to mediate graduate employee wages Thursday, but were unable to come to an agreement.
While earlier mediation did show some hope of the two parties finding common ground, according to CGE Vice President of Communications Erika Stewart, OSU did not budge Thursday.
“We moved $2.5 million closer to OSU to try to reach an agreement,” Stewart said, “and OSU moved $1.5 million away from (the CGE).”
The Daily Barometer reached out to OSU officials, but, as OSU Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Manager Lanesha Reagan said, the university has no more updates on the mediation at this time.
Stewart said OSU’s decision to not cooperate is forcing CGE to prolong their strike.
The next mediation session is set for Monday.
