Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to include the addition of Nene Sow.
Center Nene Sow committed to the program on April 16. The 6-foot-8-inch senior played for the University of Utah in the most recent season, where she played nine games. Sow is expected to be the first Beaver listed as a center since Jelena Mitrovic, who was last on the team in the 2022-2023 season.
With two new recruits named in the last week, the Oregon State University women’s basketball family is growing.
Guard Katelyn Field declared her commitment to play at OSU as a freshman on April 9. Field comes from ATC Academy, an agency in Sydney, Australia.
While playing in the United States with her agency in December, she had a 32-point game where she made nine 3-pointers and five rebounds.
“I am super excited to announce my commitment to Oregon State University,” Field said on Instagram. “A huge thank you to Coach Scott (Rueck) and his coaching staff for this incredible opportunity.”
Field competes in the Australian semi-professional league NLB1, where she plays for the Casey Cavaliers. Field has been on the court for two games in the current season but has yet to score any points.
Field wasn’t the only player from Australia to commit to playing at Oregon State, or even the only player from her agency.
Keira Lindemans, who also played for ATC Academy, committed to the Beavers in late February. She plays for the Bulleen Boomers in the Australian semi-professional league Big V. So far this season, she has averaged 5.25 points and 7.25 rebounds a game in the club.
New talent also came from somewhere familiar, a former Pac-12 conference team.
Jenna Villa, a guard transferring from Washington State University, announced her commitment to play for the Beavers on April 13.
Villa averaged 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds a game in her most recent season with WSU. Villa made 33.8% of her attempted three-pointers, higher than any OSU player in the 2024-2025 season.
Unlike the end of the 2023-2024 season, where eight athletes left Oregon State, no OSU players have joined the transfer portal or announced an early departure from the team this year.
Seniors Sela Heide, AJ Marotte, and Kelsey Rees have finished their college basketball careers and will not be returning for the 2025-2026 season. However, senior guards Tiara Bolden and Catarina Ferreira will be playing an extra year with the program. With 12 athletes currently on the roster for next season, the Beavers could add up to three more players.
