Q&A with DAM JAM performer KYLE

The Baro Staff

KYLE will be performing at this year’s DAM JAM, hosted by the Oregon State University Program Council.

What are you most excited about performing at OSU?
“It’s my first time!!! It’s always dope coming to a place for the first time.”

What is the greatest challenge you face while performing in different places?
“Just making sure the floor isn’t too slippery. I don’t want to be hitting a spin move then find myself spinning off the stage.”

What is your favorite memory performing?
“Man, the first time I crowd surfed on the surf board. First I tried it and didn’t last that long on the board, but the following night it went perfect.”

Are you excited to co-headline? Why or why not?
“It’s always dope to share the stage. We both are going on stage to give the people a great show.”

What piece of advice would you give to aspiring artists/performers?
“The advice I would give to any aspiring artist/performer would be to give it your all no matter what. Whether it’s for 3,000 people or for three people. You go as hard as you can.”

DAM JAM will kick off in Parker Plaza on June 2 from 2-6 p.m. with a free festival including live music, food trucks and activities from different OSU clubs and organizations. Following the festival, Reser Stadium opens at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. concert with co-headliners KYLE and Alison Wonderland.

Students can pick up a ticket for $15 at the Student Experience Center welcome desk with a valid student ID. Alumni can purchase theirs for $25 online here, and the general public can find tickets both online here and at the SEC welcome desk for $35.
