ODOT moves eastern closure of Highway 34 to Peoria Road, expect delays
April 11, 2019
The eastern closure point for Highway 34 will now be at Peoria Road, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation on Thursday. Lanes will be reduced to one lane going each way. Fast moving flood waters continue to cover the highway between Peoria Road and the Willamette River.
Sections of Highway 34 have been closed since Tuesday with the closure stretching from Colorado Lake Drive to First Street in Downtown Corvallis.
Commuters can use ODOT’s Trip Checker for up-to-date information on road closures or warnings. Additionally, updates on high water warnings, closures and reopenings can be found on the Benton County Flood and High Water Update page.
Pretty cool time-lapse. Important though: While this is looking calm in some places on the surface, the water is still be moving fast underneath. Obey barricades for your own safety. https://t.co/5cAtrwSpTO
