Emergency response training to take place in Reser Stadium

Reser Stadium on Oregon State University’s Corvallis campus is set to host an emergency response training exercise on August 9.

The training exercise, which will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m, was organized by the OSU Emergency Management Department as well as the Athletic Department. The location and timing were specifically chosen to limit any potential impact on the community.

According to a press release from OSU’s Public Safety Department and administration, the community can expect to see an increased presence of both emergency response vehicles and personnel on and around campus on Tuesday.

While some parts of Reser Stadium, as well as Parker Plaza located on Southwest 26th Street, will be blocked off as part of the training, road and sidewalk access around the area will remain open for traffic.

As an additional precaution to prevent unintentional entry into the training exercise, the affected areas will also be marked.

The press release asks that passersby not try to interfere with the training exercise so as to keep the area safe.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to Brandon Christensen, OSU emergency planner, at 541-737-3485.
