Students at Oregon Students University with classes in Moreland Hall can expect faulty piping to be repaired by Monday morning February 17th, 2025, restoring water to the building’s amenities.
In Moreland Hall, water has been shut off throughout the entirety of the building since Friday, Jan. 31 due to an emergency leak in the domestic supply line, resulting in the replacement of a large section of piping.
Initially, the issue was brought to the attention of students in an email sent to students whose studies reside in Moreland Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
This impacts the building’s amenities such as bathrooms available, community kitchen equipment, or any open sinks.
Consequently, students have been guided to portable restrooms on site as well as those available in surrounding buildings such as the Memorial Union and Langton Hall.
Sean Nealon, Media Relations Manager at OSU, directed The Barometer to an email sent by University Facilities, Infrastructure & Operations where they said:
“Repairs are still in progress, water is scheduled to be restored on Monday morning, February 17th, 2025.Thank you for your patience as we have navigated this extremely difficult repair.”
While this repair now has a definitive date, Facilities Services notes that closures may be subject to delays or general changes and students with further inquiries are guided to visit the OSU Campus Closures, Shutdowns, and Detours page.
If any more information regarding repairs is released, the Barometer will update this story.
