Oregon State completed a dramatic comeback to defeat San Diego 8-6 Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field. The win clinched the series for the Beavers.
Jada Lewis delivered the biggest moment of the game. Her walk-off grand slam in the seventh inning sealed the comeback and sparked celebrations.
Trailing 6-3 entering the final inning, OSU started the rally with a hit from Mya Harrison. Walks and a single quickly loaded the bases.
Rylei Trujillo drew an RBI-walk to bring the Beavers closer. Lewis then stepped up and crushed her second home run of the season.
Oregon State started strong earlier in the game with a three-run home run from Morgan Howey. The Beavers built early momentum before the bats went quiet.
San Diego responded with consistent scoring, including a three-run sixth inning. The Toreros held a 6-3 lead before the Beavers’ late surge.
Kimberlee Aleman pitched through tough moments, allowing six runs but just one earned. Amelia Streuber added two scoreless innings to earn the win.
After the game, Head Coach Laura Berg praised the team’s effort.
“We knew we were playing against a good side, and our discipline paid off until the end,” she said.
“The girls know how to come back stronger, and that’s what really matters,” Berg added.
Oregon State will look to complete the sweep on Sunday, March 29. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
