OSU hosts event for International Women’s Day this Wednesday

To recognize the achievements of women through the year, Oregon State University President Dr. Jayathi Murthy and Provost Edward Feser are hosting International Women’s Day at the Memorial Union main lounge on Mar. 8 at 5 p.m.

The event is open to all and will include remarks from Murthy and Feser on the accomplishments of women in OSU and the global community.

There will be panels including guest speakers Dr. Margaret Burnett from The GenderMag Project and Andrea Ballinger, vice provost for information and technology. The event will discuss the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women’s theme for Women’s Day.

There will be a celebration station in the Student Experience Center plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where anyone can enjoy games, hot cocoa and find information on many different organizations and resources for helping women throughout the world.
