Oregon State’s women’s basketball team isn’t done just yet.
Although the program’s loss to Gonzaga in the West Coast Conference tournament finals cost them a bid to the NCAA tournament, the Beavers will be competing in the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament starting on Thursday.
The WBIT, which began in 2024, is run and funded by the NCAA. It includes 32 of the top teams that were not offered a slot in the NCAA March Madness tournament.
Oregon State will be hosting its game against the 3-seed Wisconsin in Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. OSU is one of three lower-ranked teams to host a game in the first round of the tournament. Wisconsin’s home arena is being used for a Wisconsin boys’ basketball state tournament, so the Badgers were unable to host OSU.
OSU will tip against Wisconsin at 6 p.m. PDT Thursday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. The Badgers are 13-17 on the season and have lost their last 10 games.
The WBIT field has other games lined up for those who just can’t get enough of WCC hoops.
Loyola Marymount University, the WCC regular season champions, will take on Stanford at 7 p.m. PDT on Thursday. Santa Clara will face California, also at 7 p.m. Thursday. San Diego State, which will be joining OSU in the Pac-12 next season, will also be competing and will host UC Irvine at 6 p.m. PDT on Thursday.
All WBIT games up until the March 30 semifinals will be broadcast only on ESPN+. The semifinals will air on ESPNU, and the finals will air on ESPN2 on April 1.
Ticket information for OSU’s game against Wisconsin will be shared on osubeavers.com as it becomes available.
