Oregon State volleyball bested a strong Division II Western Washington University team during a scrimmage on Saturday at Gill Coliseum, but their lineup looked a little different.
Beaver Head Coach Lindsey Behonick added four mid-year transfers to the Oregon State lineup in January.
Sophomore setter Ally Cox joins the Beavers from the University of the Pacific. Last fall, Cox recorded the first triple-double game for a West Coast Conference athlete since 2022. Since the transfer, Behonick has described Cox as a “multi-faceted” player.
Freshman middle blocker Ivana Cvetkovic and senior outside hitter AC Froehlich have also made their home in Corvallis from Wake Forest and Louisiana State University, respectively.
Taylor Treahy, a sophomore opposite hitter from George Washington University, also joins the team. Treahy boasts an impressive stat sheet, winning a spot on the Atlantic 10 first team All-Conference in 2025.
According to the NCAA Academic and Membership Affairs, Division I teams are only allowed eight hours of countable athletically related activities (CARA) in the off-season. CARA defines athletic activities supervised by the coaching staff.
This is a reduction from in-season play, where 20 CARA hours are allowed.
The spring season adds time for coaches to evaluate and develop players in a real game setting outside of reduced practice times.
Oregon State will continue their spring schedule against the University of Oregon in Eugene on April 24.
