Beginning on Jan. 19, Oregon State University will be hosting their annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration events, OSU’s longest running social justice celebration.
The events will begin with the Peace Breakfast and march on Jan. 19. The breakfast will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. in the CH2M HILL Alumni Center. It is open to Oregon State University community members. At the breakfast, community members who work to carry on MLK’s message will be honored.
Closing out the events at the end of the month, will be the Day of Service, Saturday Jan. 31. Check in for the event will be held in the Memorial Union Horizon Room, where light breakfast, snacks and lunch will be served to volunteers.
On this Day of Service, projects will take place in various locations around the Corvallis area, and transportation will be provided. There are many different service projects that volunteers can register for, each occurring throughout the day.
PRAx will be hosting a concert in partnership with the OSU Office of Institutional Diversity and the MLK Day Programming Committee. This concert will feature a capella group Kings Return. This show will be held on Jan. 19 at 7pm.
