Beavers Got Talent to showcase OSU talents this Saturday

Featuring singers, dance groups, pianists and beatboxers, a wide variety of student talents will be on showcase at the Beaver’s Got Talent event this Saturday from 6-8 p.m. in Oregon State University’s Memorial Union Ballroom.

OSU Planning Council Event Organizer Kenna Reid said the event is returning from a hiatus after being temporarily replaced by another competition.

“This is the first time we’ve done a full OSU talent show in quite some time,” Reid said. “What we would do instead every year was called Battle of the DJs.”

Though Battle of the DJs was a popular event, OSUPC and Reid decided it was time for a more inclusive talent show.

“We ended up shifting this year to Beavers Got Talent just to open it up to all students with talents and switch it up a bit,” Reid said.

Beavers Got Talent is free for all OSU students with no tickets necessary. Those in attendance will get to vote for their top three favorite peers out of 15 acts with a grand prize of $750 on the line and second and third place prizes of $500 and $250, respectively.

Los Angeles based comedian and television writer Feraz Ozel will host the event, and food and drinks will be provided for audience members.
