Live music, crafts, community, biking and more—Open Streets Corvallis is putting on their 8th annual free street festival. It will be taking place June 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Second Street between Riverfront Park and the Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park in Downtown Corvallis.

According to the press release, there will be a multitude of community vendors within the park with activities such as live music, stamp and card making, handlebar tassel making and other games. There will also be activities along the route put on by participating businesses, including:
- Chalk art by Core Corvallis
- Prize wheel by American Dream Pizza
- Book giveaway by the Kiwanis Sunrisers Club
- Live DJ by PreAtomic Records
- And more

Just under a mile of street will be closed to automobiles during the festival. You can bike, skate, walk or simply play within the space. The event is put on with the goal of promoting active and sustainable transportation, as well as promoting community.
“This year’s event will be a unique opportunity to see Second Street in Downtown Corvallis reimagined as a pedestrianized street. I think it will allow the community to see downtown with a new perspective and introduce them to local businesses they may not have interacted with before,” Open Streets Program Coordinator and Active Transportation Specialist Lindsey Almardoe said.
“It’s a showcase of what our community offers.”
