Oregon State University’s Corvallis campus will be closed tomorrow, according to a campus-wide email sent by OSU Public Safety.

As a result of anticipated street conditions being affected by sub-freezing temperatures and ice,  OSU decided to close all on-campus buildings, including the Student Experience Center, Dixon Recreation Center, the Student Legacy Park, McAlexander Field and the libraries on campus.

In the email, campus employees scheduled to work tomorrow  are requested to contact their supervisors for guidance.

University Housing and Dining Services will remain operational, though university officials alerted students and faculty to be aware of adjusted hours and locations.

A UHDS representative said that all dining halls will remain open, but that only select restaurants within the dining halls will continue to serve food. Those looking to eat on campus can check  the Food @ OSU website for the most up-to-date information regarding the availability and location of dining services.

According to the National Weather Service, snow and freezing are likely tonight, with sleet after midnight, and temperatures in the mid 20s. While snow is not expected to accumulate overnight, ice build-up is possible, with up to a one-tenth of an inch of accumulation.

Rain and freezing rain are expected Saturday, with sleet in the afternoon. Sleet accumulation is projected to be as high as one inch, with ice accumulation between one tenth and a half of an inch during the day, and a further tenth of an inch possible overnight.

The university also noted that the status for buildings and dining services for Sunday, January 14 will be announced late Saturday afternoon.

Additional information about closures can be found at the OSU Alerts website and on the University’s X account, @OregonState.
