Corvallis annual Beatlesfest returns this Friday following three year hiatus

The Corvallis Folklore Society will hold its annual Beatlesfest for the first time in three and a half years this Friday at the First United Methodist Church.

According to Mark Weiss, Coordinator for the Best Cellar Coffee House, all are welcome to watch the several groups and soloists who will perform largely acoustic interpretations of the Beatles music.

The Beatlesfest has been an annual event since 1981, and this year’s event will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Corvallis Folklore Society is a private non-profit organization that coordinates events like the Beatlesfest to fundraise for various causes.

This year, all of the proceeds go to Corvallis’ sister city in Uzhhorod, Ukraine to help to feed, house and provide medical care for Ukrainians. The fee to attend is a minimum of $2 at the door but attendees are welcomed to extend more funds to support the cause.
