The two best words: Omaha bound.
The Oregon State Beavers defeated the Florida State University Seminoles 14-10 Sunday evening at Goss Stadium, becoming the Corvallis super regional champions.
“I’m so incredibly proud of each and every one of these young men. Everyone is a part of this. Student managers, players, administration, Beaver nation, that stadium was absolutely rocking,” said head coach Mitch Canham after tonight’s win.
In a win-or-go-home game, the Seminoles jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning thanks to Max Williams launching a two-run bomb off OSU starting pitcher James DeCremer.
In an immediate response, the Beavers sent 11 men to the plate, including five hits and two homers, and produced seven runs in the bottom of the first, giving OSU a 7-2 lead.

“We go down two runs in the first, and these guys respond in such an incredible way. If you’re surprised, then shame on you; it’s just impressive how they go about their business,” said Canham.
One of the men who stepped up to the plate and delivered a solo home run was Carson McEntire, who had not played in the postseason and was slotted in right field over Easton Talt, who was 1-9 in super regionals.
The seven runs were the most Beaver baseball has scored in the first inning all season, and more than games one and two combined.
As the Beavers found themselves producing 13 runs in three innings, a grin started to develop on the faces of every player, fan and reporter. That grin would continue, but without a bit of trouble along the way.
The Seminoles were applying pressure every inning, testing the Beavers’ pitching staff. However, thanks to Beavers’ continuous offensive onslaught, it gave Canham an easier decision to let his pitching staff work through their kinks.
“Those guys continue to find and get quick outs. (Zach) Kmatz is a true freshman, and he has thrown some really big innings. He got some quick outs for us, keeping momentum on our side. All of them have continued to develop throughout the entirety of the year, who they were when they got here, who they are at the start of the season, who they are now,” said Canham.
Of course, winning never comes easy, especially in a super regional, as FSU kept rallying and cut the deficit to 14-10. OSU pitcher Nelson Keljo wouldn’t let this continue any longer as he shut the door and clinched his squad an Omaha berth for the first time since 2018.

The first day of the Men’s College World Series begins Friday, June 13, as Oregon State will take on Louisville.
“I trust these guys who go out there and put their heart and soul into it. Omaha’s in the Beaver blood, man,” said Canham.
