Another weekend, another series win for the Oregon State University baseball team.
The Beavers swept Long Beach State University in a three-game road series in California from May 8-10, improving to 40-11 in the 2026 regular season.
The Beavers won Game 1 with a score of 7-2, with starting pitcher Ethan Kleinschmit not allowing a hit until the fifth inning. On offense, Josh Proctor logged two RBIs while Ethan Porter reached base on all three of his at-bats with two singles and one walk.
In Game 2, Oregon State won 8-1 behind multi-RBI performances from Easton Talt, Paul Vazquez and Jacob Krieg. Starting pitcher Eric Segura earned the win, but Zach Edwards notched a save after entering the game in the sixth to a bases-loaded jam. He got out of it, going on to pitch a career-long four innings with six strikeouts and no hits to end the game.
AJ Singer led the Beavers to an 8-4 win in Game 3, going 3-of-4 with four RBIs. His performance was punctuated with a two-run home run that put the Beavers up 3-2 in the third inning. The Beavers took advantage of LBSU defensive errors with a four-run sixth inning – three runs were unearned – giving Oregon State a 7-3 lead.
Freshman Trey Morris got the start for OSU on the mound, giving up two earned runs and three hits in six innings pitched, earning the win.
Having completed the sweep, the Beavers gained their fifth consecutive 40-win season. After suffering back-to-back losses against CSUN and UTRGV on April 29 and May 1, respectively, OSU is now on a six-game winning streak.
On Monday, the Beavers jumped from No. 10 to No. 7 in the nation in D1Baseball.com’s poll.
The Beavers will hope to keep their hot streak going entering the final stretch of the regular season. OSU enters a four-game home stand starting with a matchup against the University of Portland on Tuesday at 5:35 p.m.
The Beavers have gone 1-1 against the Pilots in their prior matchups this season. OSU won the last game, needing 12 innings to defeat Portland 6-4 on May 5.
After taking on the Pilots, the Beavers will close their season with a three-game series against Air Force running Thursday-Saturday.
Up next will be postseason, where OSU has a chance at hosting a regional for a third straight year.
The Beavers have yet to lose a series in 2026.
