Road closures from flooding prompts estimated 80 minute OSU-Albany commute, HWY 34 remains closed

With flooding causing road closures of major roadways in the Corvallis-Albany area, the expected travel time from campus to Albany is estimated to take 80 minutes, according to Google Maps, at the height of rush hour.

 
Highway 34 will remain closed throughout the evening between Colorado Lake Drive and Van Buren Avenue at First Street, according to the Benton County Flood and High Water updates. Approximately 15,800 cars travel across the bridge over the Willamette River using Highway 34 according to ODOT traffic data.
