Oregon State University freshman Emily Reedy passed away this past Sunday, Jan. 15. There will be a viewing tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Foothills Church in Stayton, Oregon. A celebration of life will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foothills Church in Stayton as well. Anyone is welcome to attend. Reedy’s parents asked that attendees wear pink, sparkles, Beaver gear or something bright and cheerful to honor their daughter.
If you are affected by this tragedy, the Counseling and Psychological Services Center, CAPS, asks that you contact them. CAPS is located on the 5th floor of Snell Hall. Their phone number is 541-737-2131. Counseling is open to all students in person or over the phone from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday except for Thursdays. A full story will appear in the upcoming issue of The Baro.

This article was written to spotlight both the student body’s lack of participation with student government at the time in conjunction with their class representatives response. [It’s important to note ASOSU was not structured identically to today’s standards, likely having a president on behalf of each class work together as one entity as opposed to one president representing all classes.]](https://dailybaro.orangemedianetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Screenshot-2025-03-12-1.00.42-PM-e1741811160853.png)
