Grammy-nominated vocalist and trombonist Quinn Carson will take to the Ray Theater stage on March 20 in a performance showcasing the musical history of Indigenous tribes.
Carson will perform twice, once at 7 p.m. and again at 9 p.m., at the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Performing Arts’ Ray Theater, according to the PRAx website. Student tickets are $5 and general admission tickets are $25, and can be purchased here.
Carson, a member of Apache Tribe of Oklahoma and the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, has given lectures on Native American Music in jazz and hip-hop. He has also produced music for Nike’s N7 program and Michelle Obama’s Netflix program “Waffles + Mochi”.
The performance is the third concert in PRAx’s Indigenous Jazz Club series. The series features Indigenous jazz musicians selected by Artistic Director Julia Keefe, a musician and member of the Nez Perce Tribe, according to the PRAx website.
Carson’s performance is part of PRAx’s inaugural 2024-25 season, which runs through May. Ray Theater, the concert’s venue, seats between 80 and 200 attendees, according to the PRAx website.
