In their first meeting of the school year, the Student Fee Committee convened in the Student Experience Center and over Zoom on Oct. 2 to overview the groundwork for the Fiscal Year 2027 budget.

The first order of business was for the two new SFC members, SFC Liaison Lampros Sioutas and Performing Arts SFC Liaison Isabelle Bare, to take the Oath of Office.

After their oaths were sworn, the committee looked at a draft of the year’s calendar. The calendar included tour timing, January voting days and training sessions. Members were invited to suggest edits.

The Budget Proposal Template for the Budget Rationale Document was also gone over section-by section.

The sections for the BRD template included: Unit Overview, Goals and Strategic Planning, Financial Overview, Requested Budget, Additional Allocations and Senate/Budget Committee Questions.

According to SFC Vice Chair Saegis Abbott, the next steps for the committee are to review the draft schedule and BRD template and to suggest edits to them.

There will be a formal vote on the final schedule and BRD next session.
