The Oregon State Beavers softball team continued their strong run on Friday, defeating the Pacific Tigers softball team 6–4 at Kelly Field in Corvallis.
Despite a late schedule adjustment ahead of first pitch, Oregon State showed no signs of disruption, extending its winning streak to six games with a decisive five-run sixth inning that turned the game in their favor.
The Beavers struck first in the fourth inning when Morgan Howey launched a solo home run to give Oregon State a 1–0 lead. However, Pacific responded in the sixth and seventh innings, putting pressure on the Beavers’ pitching staff and briefly tying the game.
Oregon State delivered its biggest moment in the bottom of the sixth. After putting runners on base, Jaeya Butler broke the game open with a powerful three-run home run, capping off a five-run inning that gave the Beavers a commanding 6–1 lead.
Pacific attempted a late comeback, scoring three runs in the seventh inning, but Oregon State held firm. Pitcher Haydn Milley came in to close the game and secure the save, shutting down the Tigers’ rally.
Bailey Murray earned the win for the Beavers, pitching 6.1 innings while allowing four runs on 11 hits and striking out five. Offensively, Butler led the way with four RBIs, while Howey added a home run and a key run scored.
The Beavers finished with nine hits and capitalized on timely opportunities, particularly in their explosive sixth inning.
With momentum continuing to build, Oregon State will look to carry its six-game winning streak into the remainder of the series.
